Natixis IM-Backed Flexstone Partners Amasses $790M for Co-Investment Fund

Natixis Investment Managers-affiliated private equity firm Flexstone Partners has closed another vintage of its small- and middle-market private equity co-investment funds – Flexstone Partners’ Global Opportunities IV – with $790 million in commitments.

The fund will follow the same strategy and investment selection as predecessor funds.

The raise for the $10 billion firm marked a significant step for the flagship strategy despite the current challenges across global markets, according to the firm. The fund is expected to make between 40-50 direct co-investments.

More than 40% of the commitments in the latest fund were raised from over 65 new business relationships.

“Our latest fund’s close demonstrates strong appetite for Flexstone’s unique small and middle-market co-investing strategy, even during times of global economic uncertainty,” noted Eric Deram, Managing Partner at Flexstone Partners.

Flexstone said that out of more than 140 co-investments completed since 2008, 60 are fully realized, generating “an attractive risk and return performance.”

“Flexstone has followed a consistent investment philosophy for over 15 years with no strategy drift. This has allowed us to make successful co-investments across various industries with the potential to reap strong and steady returns for our investors,” added Nitin Gupta, Managing Partner at Flexstone Partners.
