LPL Financial Lures $330M FA Duo from Janney
LPL Financial has added a pair of financial advisors to its employee advisor channel, Linsco, from Janney Montgomery Scott, where they oversaw $330 million in advisory, brokerage, and retirement plan assets.
Advisors Stephen Carleton and Tom Niles have joined LPL Financial to launch Saratoga Springs, NY-based Paddock and Pine Wealth Partners.
“I don’t take a cookie cutter approach with my clients. I understand that each client has a different disposition, personality and risk tolerance,” Carleton said. “My process is to understand how they got their money, what their views are on money, what kind of risks they’re willing to take and what kind of financial planning method they are most comfortable with.”
The duo specializes in providing “comprehensive” financial planning, retirement planning, investment management, and pension strategies to high-net-worth individuals and families, LPL said.
At Janney, Carleton served as first vice president and functioned with the team, CSC Wealth Advisors of Janney Montgomery Scott, and Niles was affiliated with Niles Wealth Management of Janney Montgomery Scott, and was supported by financial advisor Jessica Niles, according to Janney’s website.
Carleton and Niles bring more than 50 years of combined experience to LPL Financial.
Niles chose to make the jump from LPL Financial because of the firm’s “considerable” advisor size, resources, and technology. Meanwhile, Carleton stated he was drawn to LPL because of the firm’s values, advisor independence, and LPL’s stance on prioritizing client interests “with their financial goals rather than creating conflicts of interest.”
In April, LPL Financial added financial advisor Austin Greer to its Linsco channel and launched Franklin, TN-based Oxford Oaks Capital. Greer was previously affiliated with UBS Wealth Management, where he oversaw about $600 million in client assets.
