KKR To Merge $157B Infrastructure, Real Estate Units
KKR has announced a leadership restructuring within its real assets platform, consolidating its infrastructure and real estate operations under unified management, according to reports.
Raj Agrawal, currently serving as global head of infrastructure, will expand his responsibilities to include the daily management of KKR’s real estate arm. Ralph Rosenberg, the firm’s current global head of real estate, will transition to a strategic role as chairman of the $157 billion real assets platform, reported Bloomberg.
The infrastructure business will remain under Agrawal’s supervision, while the real estate operations will report to both Agrawal and Rosenberg.
This realignment comes amid significant growth in both sectors, with the firm identifying convergence opportunities, particularly in areas like urban development, data infrastructure, and renewable energy.
KKR’s infrastructure segment delivered an impressive 18% return in the 12 months ending September 30, 2024, standing out as the firm’s best-performing unit. In contrast, KKR’s real estate unit posted a modest 3% return over the same period.
