Kinderhook-Backed Eagle Leasing Adds Mobile Storage

Eagle Leasing acquired Mobile Storage Inc., adding a Providence, Rhode Island, rental business that strengthens its New England operations and connects existing locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The transaction expands the Kinderhook Industries portfolio company’s storage container and trailer rental network. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded by the Hogan family in 1988 with two storage containers, Mobile Storage serves construction, retail, education and commercial customers across Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Its employees, rental fleet and Providence facility will become part of Eagle Leasing. Ryan Hogan will remain with the combined business.

“Mobile Storage has spent nearly four decades earning the trust of its customers by doing the small things right,” said Mike Ferrantino, Eagle Leasing’s chief strategy officer.

Eagle said the acquisition adds fleet density and local operating capabilities while giving Mobile Storage customers access to a broader equipment offering.

The transaction continues the company’s strategy of acquiring regional portable storage operators across the Eastern United States.

Eagle became part of Kinderhook’s platform in July 2025, when portfolio company Rent-A-Container acquired the business. The combined network subsequently adopted Eagle Leasing as its flagship brand.

At the time of that acquisition, Kinderhook reported a combined rental fleet exceeding 25,000 units, more than 200 employees and 18 branches serving East Coast, Southern and Midwestern markets. Those figures describe the platform at the 2025 transaction, rather than its current size.

Founded in 1967, Eagle provides storage containers, trailers, ground-level offices and mobile office products.

The Providence addition builds on that network through an established local operator, retaining its facility and personnel while expanding available resources.

Bernicker Law represented Eagle Leasing on legal matters, and Alvarez & Marsal provided financial due diligence.
