Kayne Anderson Closes $2.25B Energy PE Fund for Its Largest Ever

Kayne Anderson has successfully closed its Kayne Private Energy Income Fund III, L.P. (KPEIF III) with $2.25 billion in capital commitments, exceeding its $1.5 billion target. Including co-investments and associated funds, the strategy has raised over $2.8 billion since the fundraising began, reinforcing Kayne Anderson’s leadership in energy private equity.

KPEIF III will focus on investing in high-quality private energy companies, primarily targeting large-scale oil and natural gas assets that generate stable, predictable free cash flow.

“We deeply value the trust placed in us and remain committed to delivering outstanding results for our partners and portfolio companies,” said Danny Weingeist, managing partner and co-head of Kayne Energy Private Equity.

Mark Teshoian, managing partner and co-head of Kayne Energy Private Equity, added, “We see today’s market as a compelling entry point and are confident our strategy is well positioned to navigate market volatility and create significant value for our investors.”

Building on the success of KPEIF I and KPEIF II, KPEIF III contributes to a portfolio that, alongside co-investments and associated funds, has deployed over $3.7 billion across 15 companies. Kayne Anderson’s energy private equity team, led by Weingeist and Teshoian since 1998, manages approximately $7 billion in energy-focused capital. As of March 31, 2025, Kayne Anderson oversees $38 billion in assets for institutional investors, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and retail clients.
