
John Hancock Appoints Former American Century President Wayne Park as CEO of Retirement Business
John Hancock Retirement, a company of Manulife Investment Management, has hired industry veteran and former president at American Century Investments Wayne Park as CEO.
In the new role, Park heads the US retirement plan and recordkeeping business, where his responsibilities include sales, relationship management, product strategy, marketing operations and technology, according to the company. Park will be based in Boston.
Park replaces Sue Reibel who retired from the position on December 31, 2022. Park joins the global retirement leadership team and reports to Aimee DeCamillo, head of global retirement, Manulife Investment Management.
At American Century, Park was responsible for direct-to-consumer and retirement plan businesses and the operations group. Prior to working at American Century, Park was head of individual investors at T. Rowe Price, and he previously held the role of principal, institutional retirement plan services, at Vanguard Group.
Manulife Investment Management has more than $332 billion in retirement assets under management and administration for more than 260,000 retirement plans and 8.7 million participants. John Hancock services more than 55,000 retirement plans with more than 3.2 million participants and more than $187 billion in assets under management and administration.
Earlier this month, John Hancock, a unit of Manulife, announced the retirement of CEO Marianne Harrison. Brooks Tingle will succeed Harrison as president and CEO effective April 1.
