Jim Martin Leaves Morgan Stanley to Open $5B RIA Firm Nordwand Capital
Advisor Jim Martin, most recently a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, has launched Nordwand Capital, a multi-family office and investment firm managing $5 billion, serving families with more than $100 million in assets.
Nordwand will have support from RIA middle and back-office service provider Dynasty Financial Partners.
“We needed to meet the needs of 21st-century ultra-wealthy clients, which requires creativity and flexibility,” said Martin.
Martin’s team will include Morgan Stanley colleagues Christopher Boyle as new CEO and Daniel Kane as Senior Associate.
Theodore W. Brooks, Head of Listed Strategies, previously Vice President of Investor Relations at electric-vehicle charging network EVgo and Connor Martin, previously senior investment associate at financial services firm Cambridge Associates, will also join the new firm.
Martin has also established Nordwand Investments to facilitate co-investment funds. The firm has received more than $250 million in seed capital for its first three funds from its founding family partners.
Martin was listed in Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors in 2022.
The new RIA will use Fidelity Brokerage Services as its custodian.
