Jeff Bezos Explores $100B Fund to Bring AI Transformation to Industrial Economy

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is reportedly exploring the launch of a $100 billion investment fund aimed at transforming legacy industrial businesses through the application of artificial intelligence and advanced automation.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the proposed vehicle is being structured as a “manufacturing transformation fund,” focused on acquiring undervalued, asset-heavy companies across sectors that have historically lagged in digital adoption. The strategy centers on deploying next-generation AI tools to unlock efficiency gains and modernize operations.

Target sectors include semiconductors, aerospace, defense and automotive manufacturing. Bezos has reportedly begun early discussions with sovereign wealth funds and large global asset managers, including meetings in the Middle East and Singapore, to anchor the capital raise.

At the core of the initiative is Project Prometheus, an AI-focused company where Bezos serves as co-CEO. The venture represents his most significant operational role since stepping down as CEO of Amazon in 2021.
