Janney Rolls Out Portfolio Construction Tool for FAs

Janney Montgomery Scott has implemented a proprietary portfolio construction tool for its advisors, who can utilize the tool to evaluate investment products, compare portfolios, and transition brokerage assets to advisory.

The tool’s capabilities also encompass the generation of investment proposals for clients and prospects, the research of investment products such as mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and separately managed accounts (SMAs), and the analysis of portfolios by sector, region, and performance.

Advisors can also view unbundled fees, including advisor, manager, overlay and expense ratios, and the tool integrates with Janney’s prospecting systems and investment screener, the latter of which allows advisors to review investment products and benchmark performance for SMAs, mutual funds, ETFs and closed-end funds.

“After gathering feedback from our FAs, we set out to build this tool completely customized to meet their needs,” director of advisory programs Ashwini Walde said.

“This is the second phase of a multi-year and cross-functional effort, and we’re proud to see this vision brought to fruition,” head of advisory solutions Lindsey Tracey added.
