IEQ Capital Acquires EPIQ to Form $32B Multifamily Office
IEQ Capital acquired EPIQ Capital Group in a deal that will form a combined $32 billion multifamily office for ultra-high-net-worth families and individuals. Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close later this year, were not disclosed.
Combining IEQ’s $26.5 billion in assets under management with EPIQ’s $5.3 billion in assets, the combined entity will continue to offer wealth advisory and family office services with a greater presence in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, Calif., Dallas, Denver, St. Louis, Nashville, Tenn., Boston, Atlanta, and Miami.
“EPIQ has built relationships and capabilities in core markets that we believe are additive to our platform and will further our ability to provide access to differentiated investment opportunities,” said IEQ co-CEO Eric Harrison.
Chad Boeding, a former Goldman Sachs VP and Iconiq Capital alumni, formed EPIQ in 2018. The firm’s primary focus is on clients with a net worth exceeding $100 million, which includes executives, founders, and early-stage employees of prominent companies.
The three co-founders of San Francisco-based IEQ, Eric Harrison, Robert Skinner, and Alan Zafran, who left First Republic, where they had been part of a team that reportedly managed over $17 billion, will join Boeding as a managing partner of the combined company.
IEQ sold a minority stake to Stone Point Capital, a private equity firm that also funds Wealth Enhancement Group and Focus Financial Partners, in January 2023.
Ardea Partners LP served as exclusive financial advisor to the transaction.
