HarbourView Secures $500M Securitized Debt Backed by Music Assets
HarbourView Equity Partners has raised an additional $500 million in securitized debt financing backed by its expansive music rights portfolio, with insurance vehicles managed by KKR participating in the deal. The transaction mirrors a similar $500 million financing completed in March 2024, also involving KKR-managed entities.
Founded in 2021, HarbourView has rapidly built a diversified portfolio of more than 70 music catalogs comprising over 35,000 songs across both master and publishing rights. Notable artists represented include Fleetwood Mac, Bruno Mars, Pat Benatar, George Benson, and Justin Bieber.
Founder and CEO Sherrese Clarke Soares highlighted the enduring value of music rights as an asset class. “We see a tremendous opportunity to continue investing in evergreen intellectual property, which we believe is historically uncorrelated to broader market volatility and forms a powerful diversification tool,” she said.
The firm has recently expanded into media production, co-financing a series of Hip Hop biopics alongside Westbrook Studios, Flavor Unit, and Jesse Collins Entertainment. It also backed Usher: Rendezvous in Paris, a 2024 concert film.
HarbourView now oversees approximately $2.67 billion in regulatory assets and positions itself as a data-driven investor at the intersection of entertainment and finance. Barclays structured the transaction exclusively, with Barclays and KKR Capital Markets acting as placement agents. Fifth Third Bank participated as a passive placement agent.
