GTIS Hires Centersquare’s Sharon Liss to Boost Fundraising
GTIS Partners, a New York-based global real estate investment firm, has appointed veteran LP relationship expert Sharon Liss as a managing director to its expanded U.S. capital markets unit as part of a fundraising team expansion.
She will lead U.S. institutional fundraising efforts and will handle relationships with institutional investors and the consultant community, reporting to Peter Ciganik, partner and head of capital markets at GTIS.
She has over 17 years of experience working with institutional investors in real estate capital markets, most recently at CenterSquare Investment Management as managing director of capital markets.
Liss oversaw business development and consultant relations for the firm’s real estate products. She formerly worked as head of business development at Sugar Hill Capital Partners.
The arrival of Liss to the GTIS fundraising team reflects the global real estate firm’s aspirations to increase capital raising in its established verticals of residential and industrial development in the U.S.
With the recent launch of GTIS’ U.S. Real Estate Debt Strategies Fund, the firm will also benefit from Liss’ experience in real estate credit.
Founded in 2005 by Tom Shapiro, GTIS now manages $4.5 billion in gross assets and is active across a wide range of real estate sectors including single family and multifamily housing, office, industrial/logistics and hospitality as well as opportunity zone investments.
In the U.S., GTIS has invested in over 215 assets across 45 unique markets including growth areas such as Miami, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Atlanta, Tampa and Charlotte.
