GTCR Launches Maris Investments to Drive Maritime Technology Innovation

Private equity firm GTCR has announced the formation of Maris Investments, a new platform focused on acquiring and scaling maritime technology businesses. The initiative is being launched in partnership with Manish Singh, former CEO of Ocean Technologies Group, who will serve as CEO of the new venture.

Singh, a maritime industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, will lead Maris Investments as CEO. Having joined Ocean Technologies Group in 2019, he transformed it into a leading maritime software platform for global ship owners and managers. At Maris, Singh will drive acquisitions of maritime technology companies that enhance critical workflows and advance the industry’s digital transformation.

“We are excited to partner with Manish, whose proven track record, deep domain expertise and industry relationships in the maritime space make him an ideal partner to lead this platform,” said Mark Anderson, managing director and head of Technology, Media and Telecommunications at GTCR.

Maris Investments will leverage GTCR’s Leaders Strategy, which pairs management leaders with the firm to acquire and build market-leading companies. Singh will co-invest in the platform alongside GTCR.

Before Ocean Technologies Group, Singh held leadership roles at V.Group, a global ship management and marine services provider, for 12 years. Earlier, he spent over a decade at sea, earning Master Mariner certification, and later took on shore-based leadership roles with major ship managers.

Singh emphasized that Maris Investments aims to go beyond digitizing workflows, focusing on redefining how maritime workforces and fleets adopt integrated technologies and leverage data to enhance performance, safety, and compliance.
