Great Hill Hires Former WEG Senior Leader as Executive-in-Residence
Private equity firm Great Hill Partners hired former Wealth Enhancement Group senior executive John Wernz as an Executive-in-Residence.
The 13-year veteran and former chief marketing and interim chief growth officer of the financial planning group, where Wernz oversaw the firm’s expansion from $2 billion in assets to $50 billion, will lead investment opportunities within the wealth management and wealth technology industries at Great Hill.
Wernz was previously the chief advertising officer of Marketing Architects, a national marketing agency that specialized in customer acquisition programs in the financial services industry.
“John brings incredibly valuable insights and a successful track record of rapidly scaling and driving transformative growth for innovative and industry leading companies within the wealth management space,” said Matt Vettel, Managing Director at Great Hill Partners.
Founded in 1998, Boston-based Great Hill targets investments of $100 million to $500 million in high-growth companies across software, digital commerce, fintech, healthcare and digital infrastructure.
Great Hill, which in 2021 Blackstone invested in, raised $4.65 billion in its most recent financing last year, easily exceeding the $2.5 billion raised by Fund VII in 2019, with Fund VIII flying past its $3.5 billion target.
