GCG Advisory Partners Recruits $150M Duo from Wells Fargo
GCG Advisory Partners, a North Carolina-based planning and advisory firm, has recruited two advisors from Wagner-Buffie Wealth. The team, led by Shane Wagner and David Buffie, previously managed over $150 million in assets at Wells Fargo.
Aiming to strike a mix of autonomy and support for advisory firms, the move is part of GCG’s plan to improve its offerings for breakaway advisers via its partnered independence platform.
“This partnered-independence dynamic will significantly benefit our clients and provide the backing we need to achieve remarkable growth together,” said Shane Wagner, co-founder of Wagner-Buffie Wealth.
GCG, which offers securities and investment advisory services through Osaic Wealth, aims to assist mid-career advisors in transitioning and expanding their firms by acquiring equity holdings and becoming operating partners in managing select practices.
“Partnering with incredible teams like WBW continues to prove that more and more advisors want both ownership and support,” added Joey Hagner, chief growth officer at GCG Advisory Partners. “Advisors shouldn’t have to choose between the two.”
