Former Blue Wolf Partner Raises $312M for Astara Capital Maiden Fund
Private equity firm Astara Capital Partners closed its debut fund, Astara Capital Partners Fund I, LP, at $312 million, exceeding its $250 million target and reaching its hard cap.
Founded in 2020 by former Blue Wolf Capital partner Michael Ranson, Astara invests in middle market industrial, manufacturing and services businesses in North America. The firm now manages over $400 million in capital commitments.
Astara partners with companies in a variety of sectors, including packaging and converting, food, building products, forest products, and industrial manufacturing, distribution and services.
Ranson spent more than a decade as a partners and investment committee member at Blue Wolf, a New York-based middle market private equity firm.
“We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support we have received from the limited partner community,” he said.
M2O Private Fund Advisors acted as the exclusive placement agent and Robinson Bradshaw as fund formation counsel.
