
Folium Capital Eyes $500M for Forestry, Agriculture Strategy
Folium Capital, a private equity investor focused on forestry and agricultural assets, has announced the launch of its regenerative natural resources fund, Folium Fund III, with the aim of raising $500 million.
The fund will have an investment period of four years and a term of 12 years.
With the new fund, the Boston-based firm is trying a new tack: combining agriculture, forestry and carbon optionality into the same investment vehicle, optimizing land use across both asset classes while also attempting to make a positive contribution to climate change.

The fund’s strategy includes plans for developing new orchards and vineyards to help meet demand for health and nutrition plant-based foods as well as timberland investments focused on wood and carbon.
Folium currently manages more than $1 billion in assets across multiple portfolios. The firm maintains high conviction on more than ten fruit and nut crops, focusing on exposure in OECD countries.
