Ex-LPL Financial Duo with $350M Joins Cetera
Cetera Financial Group has added two financial advisors from LPL Financial, where they managed about $350 million in client assets.
Advisors Scott Thaxton and Greg Pennini, who operate as CarrThaxton Financial Group, provide asset management, financial planning, and retirement planning to more than 1,200 high-net-worth clients.
The team also includes director of operations Connie Grady, client service associate Mary Jo Blackwood, and receptionist Beverly Ekstrom, according to the firm’s website.
CarrThaxton Financial Group, which spent nearly three decades at LPL, made the switch to Cetera because the team was seeking a “partner that could deliver superior service, advanced technology, and growth resources” tailored to their business model.
“Joining Cetera represents a strategic move for our team to better serve our clients,” Thaxton and Pennini said. “We were impressed not only by the firm’s advisor-first culture but also by the depth of resources available to help us grow and innovate.”
Recently, Cetera added Charlottesville, VA-based Wilkinson Wealth Management, which was formerly affiliated with LPL Financial’s OSJ, Private Advisor Group, and manages about $380 million in assets under administration.
Cetera also added Seattle-based Pillar Financial Group, which manages about $1.8 billion in assets under administration from Northwestern Mutual.
Cetera Financial Group manages $625 billion in assets under administration and $284 billion in assets under management.
