EP Wealth Extends Buying Spree with Arizona RIA Acquisition
EP Wealth Advisors has acquired Thompson Wealth Management, adding more than $300 million in assets under management and strengthening the firm’s presence in Arizona.
Founded in 2010, Thompson Wealth Management has built a specialized advisory practice serving federal employees. Founder and CEO Neal Thompson and his six-person team will join EP Wealth and operate within the firm’s Arizona network under regional directors M.J. Nodilo and Adrian Larson.
“This partnership strengthens EP Wealth and expands our ability to serve more families across Arizona,” said Ryan Parker, CEO of EP Wealth. “Neal Thompson and his team bring deep experience supporting federal employees, and we’re excited to help them build on that foundation with the resources, technology, and advanced capabilities of our Arizona network.”
The transaction represents EP Wealth’s third acquisition of 2026. Earlier this year the firm added LongView Asset Management in Santa Fe, New Mexico, which oversees approximately $390 million, and Scottsdale-based Capital Insight Partners, which manages more than $730 million in assets.
Financial terms of the Thompson deal were not disclosed.
EP Wealth has also attracted strategic investment to support its expansion. In October, Ares Management acquired a minority stake in the firm, joining existing investor Berkshire Partners and Wealth Partners Capital Group.
Based in Torrance, California, EP Wealth manages more than $42.2 billion in assets across 66 offices in 23 states.
