Energy Capital Partners to Acquire EnergySolutions in Nuclear Sector Bet
Energy Capital Partners (ECP) has agreed to acquire international nuclear company EnergySolutions from private equity firm TriArtisan Capital Advisors LLC, reuniting the specialist infrastructure investor with a business it previously owned. The transaction will return EnergySolutions to ECP’s portfolio as nuclear power and decommissioning services gain renewed strategic importance in the global energy transition.
Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah and Charlotte, North Carolina, EnergySolutions provides services across the full nuclear fuel lifecycle, including the transportation, processing, recycling, and disposal of radiological material. The company serves a diverse set of customers, including the U.S. and Canadian governments, commercial nuclear power generators, research facilities, national laboratories and medical institutions worldwide.
“Over the past several years, we have broadened our offerings across the nuclear sector and strengthened our ability to deliver integrated solutions for customers,” said Ken Robuck, President and CEO at EnergySolutions. “We believe this transaction will accelerate our long-term strategy and growth.” ECP emphasized the continuity in the relationship. “We’ve stayed connected with EnergySolutions and its leadership since we exited our previous investment, and we’ve been impressed by what the team has continued to accomplish,” said Drew Brown, Partner at ECP.
The transaction is expected to close in 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Additional terms were not disclosed. Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC and RBC Capital Markets, LLC are serving as financial advisors to EnergySolutions, with Ropes & Gray acting as legal counsel. Latham & Watkins LLP is acting as legal counsel to Energy Capital Partners.
