Edward Jones Expands Fixed Income Tech, Brings Overlay Management In-House
Edward Jones is sharpening its technology stack and service model, pairing a new relationship with fixed income platform Moment with the completed acquisition of Natixis Investment Managers’ overlay management services capabilities. The moves are designed to speed up portfolio construction, deepen personalization and bring more of the firm’s Unified Managed Accounts (UMA) infrastructure in-house.
Moment’s portfolio management system gives Edward Jones’ fixed income trading team access to portfolio proposal tools and cash flow optimization capabilities, with plans to roll out direct access to financial advisors over time. The platform allows the firm to generate customized, immediately executable fixed income portfolios in “seconds,” according to Edward Jones.
“We’re replacing a manual, time-intensive process with speed and precision that not only improves the client outcome but adds efficiency for our financial advisors that can be used to further deepen the client experience,” said Russ Tipper, principal and head of products and solutions at Edward Jones.
Separately, Edward Jones has closed its acquisition of Natixis IM’s overlay management services capabilities. The new Edward Jones overlay management team now oversees services for the firm’s U.S.-based UMA platform internally, a function that was previously outsourced to Natixis IM, positioning the firm to better integrate tax, trading and portfolio decisions across client accounts.
