Driving Workforce Success in a Dynamic World: Q&A with Measurabl’s Marta Patlan

Human capital leadership and a strong People & Culture (P&C) function are vital for organizational success in today’s evolving workforce. Human capital leadership strategically aligns talent with business objectives, while P&C fosters an inclusive, engaged, and productive workplace culture. Together, they drive employee performance, retention, and innovation, bolstering organizational resilience and competitiveness.

According to a 2024 Deloitte study, organizations with robust human capital strategies are 2.3 times more likely to outperform their peers. Effective human capital leaders build trust and motivation, while Gallup’s 2025 Workforce Report highlights that highly engaged workplaces see 23% higher productivity and 41% lower absenteeism.

Measurabl, a sustainability data platform for real estate, recently appointed Marta Patlan as SVP, People & Culture. Patlan will oversee the company’s global people strategy, focusing on employee experience, talent development, and organizational culture.

CM: You have over 20 years of experience in human capital leadership. What’s your priority in your new role at Measurabl?

MP: I’m excited to build on the company’s strong foundation and further strengthen a culture where every employee feels connected, supported, and empowered—because when people thrive, the business thrives. We already have a vibrant culture in place, and my focus is on enhancing it by aligning total rewards, performance, and engagement to ensure it remains sustainable, impactful, and ready to inspire the next generation of Measurabl’s growth.

CM: Measurabl operates in the sustainability real estate data space, which is rapidly evolving. How do you plan to attract top talent in such a competitive and specialized industry?

MP: I’m honored to join Measurabl at such an exciting moment. Positioned at the intersection of real estate, sustainability, and technology, Measurabl combines market leadership with a clear purpose, data-driven innovation, and strong values. Recognition like President Maureen Waters being named a Woman of Influence and our team winning “Team of the Year” at the edie Awards reflects the culture we’ve built—and will continue to strengthen. By offering meaningful work, career growth, and a mission that matters, Measurabl is a place where top talent can thrive.

I plan to build on this foundation by attracting individuals who share our mission and values, and by elevating Measurabl’s reputation as a company where careers are built and lasting impact is made.

CM: Employee engagement is one of your strengths. What innovative engagement initiatives are you considering for Measurabl’s workforce?

MP: Our innovative initiatives are designed to foster diverse feedback channels and nurture authentic human connections. We’re embedding a “communication and education first” philosophy, while equipping our people leaders with targeted development to champion these engagement principles and amplify their impact across the organization.

CM: Diversity and inclusion are part of your expertise. How will you champion these at Measurabl?

MP: My general approach recognizes that it often begins with a defined strategy but ultimately needs to permeate every facet of our culture. Think of our approach as the seed that was planted before I arrived here. We have a globally diverse team that we can celebrate. The further goal is for the seed to grow and become deeply rooted in every corner of our cultural landscape. My focus is on nurturing this growth authentically. We recognize that while the seed has been sown, we are still in the early stages of cultivating a fully inclusive and equitable environment.

CM: What metrics might you use to evaluate the success of your people strategy?

MP: I’m excited to build on the company’s strong foundation and further strengthen a culture where every employee feels connected, supported, and empowered—because when people thrive, the business thrives. We already have a vibrant culture in place, and my focus is on enhancing it by aligning total rewards, performance, and engagement to ensure it remains sustainable, impactful, and ready to inspire the next generation of Measurabl’s growth.

True to Measurabl’s mission of measuring what matters, I’m focusing on a range of key results—including employee engagement scores, performance impact metrics, Annual Recurring Revenue per full-time employee, and manager effectiveness scores. As we evolve our People & Culture strategy, our measurement mechanisms will evolve too, helping us gain a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of our progress and impact on both our team and our customers.

CM: How will you leverage technology to enhance people strategy, especially given your experience in tech-driven organizations?

MP: As we continue down the path of our transformational strategy, we have an emphasis on data automation. A lot of times, for the People & Culture team, this means a focus on employee or manager self-service with our HRIS, for example.  But also, for my team, it means automation for our many operational processes. It’s exciting to me how innovative we can be to work smarter and ultimately be able to provide more strategic support to the employees at Measurabl.
