Cresset Names RIA M&A Veteran Liz Nesvold as President
Cresset Capital Management, a rapidly growing multifamily wealth manager with $30 billion in assets under management, has added its first president Liz Nesvold, a veteran investment banker and expert on M&A advisory in the RIA business.
Nesvold will oversee the firm’s platform offering, strategy and family office services, working alongside Cresset’s co-founders Eric Becker and Avy Stein.
Chicago-based Cresset primarily serves CEO founders, executives, wealth creators, entrepreneurs and partners as well as multigenerational and high net worth families.
“Liz is one of the most respected and recognized advisors to the wealth management industry and has led the strategy around transformational partnerships and business combinations,” said Stein.
Nesvold joins Cresset after four years of leading the asset and wealth management division at Raymond James Financial Inc., which acquired the firm she launched with her husband and several other partners, Silver Lake Advisors, in 2019.
Prior to Silver Lake, Nesvold spent 15 years with Berkshire Global Advisors as managing director and partner.
Nesvold actively advocates for women in the financial industry and is a member of CHIEF, 100 Women in Finance and Young Presidents Association. She also serves as an independent director on the board of ClientWise, which she recapitalized with Northwestern Mutual Futures Venture Fund.
Last week, Cresset lured from the now-failed First Republic Bank an advisor team that had been overseeing $13 billion in client assets in California and Connecticut.
