Cresset Elevates Susie Cranston to CEO
Cresset has named Susie Cranston as its next CEO with the leadership transition set to take effect on April 15, 2026.
Cranston, who has served as president of the Chicago-based wealth management firm since April 2024, will succeed the co-founders in the CEO role while continuing to work closely with Avy Stein and Eric Becker, who will remain executive co-chairs. As part of the transition, Cranston will also join the firm’s board of directors.
“When Eric and I founded Cresset, our goal was to build a firm designed to serve families with care, alignment, and integrity for generations,” Stein said. “Susie embodies those principles and leads with clarity, sound judgment, and deep respect for the trust families place in our firm.”
During Cranston’s tenure as president, the firm has expanded through a series of values-aligned acquisitions, strengthened its operational and risk infrastructure, and continued investing in talent and culture while maintaining a disciplined growth strategy.
Cranston brings extensive experience in financial services and consulting, including senior leadership roles at First Republic Bank and JPMorgan Chase, as well as earlier work at McKinsey & Company.
“I feel deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and for the opportunity to continue working alongside Avy, Eric, and our extraordinary team as we serve clients and build a firm designed to endure for generations,” Cranston said.
Cresset operates in more than 20 locations nationwide, including offices in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
