Creative Planning Buys $460M Washington Practice
Creative Planning announced the acquisition of Krivoshein | McDaniels Financial, an RIA based in Walla Walla, WA with $460 million in assets. The acquisition, which closed on October 31, 2024, adds six wealth management professionals to Creative Planning.
Founded by Scott Krivoshein in 2001 and joined by Kim McDaniels in 2011, the firm serves retirees, pre-retirees, families, individuals, women investors and business owners.
“The team at Krivoshein | McDaniels Financial shares our commitment to providing trusted, tailored financial guidance,” said Peter Mallouk, CEO of Creative Planning. “Their deep client relationships and client-centered approach align perfectly with our mission, and we’re excited to welcome them to Creative Planning.”
The acquisition marks Creative Planning’s 11th deal in two years as the firm continues its strategic growth by expanding its geographical footprint and wealth management capabilities.
Overland Park, KS-based Creative Planning, which oversees about $345 billion in assets, is controlled by Mallouk and minority-backed by private equity firms TPG and General Atlantic. General Atlantic has backed Creative Planning since 2020, while TPG invested in the company in 2024.
Last week, the company announced its December of 2024 acquisition of $1.3 billion Brookfield, WI-based Kowal Investment Group.
Kevin Geary and Brett Zaniewski of Decerno Advisors served as exclusive advisor while Katz Teller served as legal counsel to Krivoshein | McDaniels Financial in the transaction.
