Coinbase Acquires Echo in $375M Deal to Expand Capital-Raising Platform for Tokenized Assets
Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN) has agreed to acquire Echo, a blockchain-based capital-raising and investment platform, in a transaction valued at approximately $375 million, paid via a combination of cash and Coinbase stock with customary adjustments. The deal marks Coinbase’s eighth acquisition in 2025 as it accelerates strategic expansion amid renewed crypto industry enthusiasm under a pro-digital-asset regulatory backdrop.
Echo’s platform enables both private “Echo sales” and public offerings via Sonar, democratizing access for communities and investors. Since its inception, Echo has facilitated over $200 million in capital raises across roughly 300 completed deals.
“Echo’s platform makes raising and investing more accessible to community members… By joining forces, we’re making it easier for companies to raise funds and grow, and giving the community early access to unique investment opportunities,” Coinbase said in a statement. The firm added that while it will begin with crypto token sales, it plans to broaden support over time to tokenized securities and real-world assets.
