Chicago Atlantic Launches EM Private Credit Strategy
Chicago Atlantic has launched an Emerging Markets Private Credit strategy, expanding its platform into high-growth regions across Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The strategy will focus on senior secured loans, structured credit and asset-backed financing solutions for government-linked companies and agencies, targeting borrowers seeking flexible, non-dilutive capital. The firm aims to address a persistent financing gap in emerging markets while emphasizing capital preservation, downside protection and disciplined underwriting.
“Emerging markets present a compelling opportunity for private credit investors,” said Tony Cappell. “Bank retrenchment, regulatory constraints, and growing demand for non-dilutive capital have created a significant opportunity for experienced private credit managers to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns while supporting the growth of high-quality businesses.”
The effort will be led by Peter Marber and Jim Garvey, with oversight from Partner Scott Gordon. The broader team includes Umesh Mahajan, Bill Healy and Jack Flaherty.
