Carson Group Partners with Shilanski & Associates, Expanding into Alaska
Carson Group announced a new partnership with Shilanski & Associates, a comprehensive financial planning firm headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, overseeing $436 million in assets under management. With the move, Shilanski becomes Carson’s first wholly owned office in Alaska and the 32nd Carson Wealth location nationwide. The firm will retain its entire team and client-first approach while gaining access to Carson’s technology platform, planning resources, and national support network.
Founded in 1981 by U.S. Air Force veteran Floyd Shilanski and his wife, Rosa, the family-run firm focuses on financial planning for retired civilian federal employees. Leadership now spans multiple generations, with Micah Shilanski and Jamie C. Shilanski serving as managing partner and wealth advisor, alongside director of operations Charnell Cole, director of portfolio management Edward Hoyt, and seven additional professionals.
“For us, the decision was about one thing—how to deliver more value to our clients,” said Floyd Shilanski. “Partnering with Carson means stronger planning processes, access to a deeper bench of expertise, and the power of a national ecosystem that enhances what we can provide locally.” The firm plans to expand expertise in retirement tax strategies, strengthen succession planning, and continue delivering highly personalized service.
Carson Group CEO Burt White praised the addition, noting, “Shilanski & Associates has built an exceptional reputation for disciplined planning and personalized service, and we are honored to help carry that legacy forward.”
The move caps an active September for Carson, which also added GCD Advisors, a Great Lakes-area office with $300 million in AUM, and fully acquired Ohio-based Wells Trecaso Financial Group, a $570 million RIA. Headquartered in Omaha, Carson Group now oversees more than $48 billion in assets across 150+ partner offices serving over 54,000 client families.
Peter Campagna of Wise Rhino served as exclusive M&A advisor to Shilanski & Associates.
