Carson Group Acquires Wealth Firm with $120M in AUM

Carson Group has acquired a wealth advisory practice, which oversees about $120 million in assets under management, and expands the firm’s presence in Washington state.

Walla Walla, WA-based Buckley Investment Group, founded in 2003 by partner and wealth advisor John Buckley, offers investment management, financial planning, estate and tax planning, and consulting services.

Buckley Investment Group, which fully joined Carson on March 30, includes partner and wealth advisor Shannon Ebding, alongside relationship and operations associate Kim Wright, per the firm’s page on Carson’s website.

The firm initially began its affiliation with Carson Group as an independent office in 2023 and will rebrand as a Carson Wealth office, as part of the acquisition, Carson said.

“More than two decades ago, I set out to build a firm grounded in independence, transparency and doing what is right for clients, no exceptions,” said Buckley. “Strengthening this partnership with Carson and becoming fully integrated ensures that our clients and our team have the strength, stability and resources of a larger organization, while preserving the personal relationships and values that define our practice.”

Buckley Investment Group marks Carson’s 42nd wholly owned and integrated office, following Carson’s addition of Neligh, NE-based Furstenau Financial from LPL Financial, where the firm managed $245 million in assets under advisement.

Through Carson’s integrated office model, Buckley Investment Group will gain access to Carson’s investment management platform, technology, HR solutions, and operational infrastructure.

The model provides support and additional resources to help advisors streamline operations and client services, Carson said.

Recently, Carson Group added Bethpage, NY-based Agrillo Financial Group, a women-led wealth management practice, which oversees about $160 million in advisory and retirement plan assets.

Omaha, NE-based Carson Group, founded in 1983, oversees more than $57 billion in assets for more than 60,000 families, the firm said.
