Captrust Adds $3.1B Cobblestone Capital Advisors
Captrust Financial Advisors has acquired Rochester, NY-based Cobblestone Capital Advisors, marking Captrust’s first location in Upstate New York.
Cobblestone Capital Advisors, a 42-person team, includes 15 advisors and is led by CEO John DiPasquale, CIO Jason Garlock, and managing director of business development Chris Mooney.
The firm, which was founded in 1986, joined Captrust in September and provides wealth management, private investments, investment management, and family office services. Following the acquisition, Cobblestone will adopt Captrust’s brand.
Captrust’s latest addition marks the firm’s third office in New York and brings its headcount to 87 employees in the state. Captrust has two offices in New York, one located in New York City and another in Lake Success, Long Island.
“Cobblestone’s commitment to a team-based approach aligns perfectly with our mission,” Rick Shoff, managing director at Captrust. “We’re always looking for firms that not only deliver exceptional client service but also share our long-term vision and cultural DNA. This is a strategic fit that strengthens our northeastern presence and deepens our bench of talent.”
Houlihan Lokey served as Cobblestone’s financial advisor in the transaction, and Harter Secrest & Emery served as legal counsel.
Earlier this year, Captrust added Houston-based Wealth Covenant Group, which oversees about $300 million in client assets.
Captrust oversees a total of more than $1 trillion in total assets for 127,387 accounts, according to its latest Form ADV updated in August.
