AssetMark to Launch Private Markets Access Across Managed Portfolios and UMA Platform

AssetMark has announced a strategic initiative to integrate private market investments into its managed solutions and discretionary platforms. The firm is currently conducting due diligence on funds across private credit, private real estate, and private equity, with the goal of incorporating them into discretionary strategies and unified managed accounts (UMAs).

Beginning in Q4 2025, advisors using AssetMark’s platform will gain access to semi-liquid, institutionally diligenced private funds—available within the Adhesion Wealth platform and managed UMA offerings. These private investments will sit alongside public market allocations in a single custody account, allowing for seamless portfolio construction and oversight.

Lou Maiuri, Group CEO and Chairman, emphasized the growing necessity of alternatives: “Private markets are no longer optional—they’re essential to building modern, diversified portfolios.” He also underscored the firm’s focus on scalability and intuitive access, which has historically been a challenge for independent advisors working with private investments.

The new program promises: Professionally managed portfolios that include public and private asset classes; rebalancing and allocation management with top-tier asset managers; integrated technology for streamlined implementation across AssetMark’s platform; and advisor education and portfolio tools to demystify private markets for clients.

This move aligns with the broader industry trend of democratizing access to private markets and empowering advisors with multi-asset solutions that were once reserved for institutional investors. It also builds on AssetMark’s growing platform—which serves over 10,700 financial advisors and 317,000 households, with $139 billion in platform assets as of year-end 2024.

The announcement follows the launch of AssetMark’s Ascent succession planning program earlier this year, signaling the firm’s continued investment in full-lifecycle advisor support and platform innovation.
