Advent Raises $30B, Topping Target for 11th Flagship Fund
Advent International has raised $30 billion across its global fund complex, including nearly $27 billion for its 11th flagship fund and more than $3 billion for a new mid-market strategy.
The flagship fund, Advent International GPE XI, surpassed its $26 billion target. The new strategy, Advent Mid-Market Private Equity, is the firm’s first fund dedicated to smaller deals.
Commitments came from new and existing investors. They included public and private pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and foundations, institutional fund managers, family offices and high-net-worth individuals.
The raise comes during one of Advent’s most active years for returning capital. So far in 2026, the firm has realized about $13 billion across 27 businesses. It has also invested about $10 billion in 38 new and existing businesses, a total that includes closed and pending deals.
“The trust our investors have placed in us in one of the most demanding fundraising environments reflects the consistency of our track record and our discipline in returning capital,” said James Brocklebank, managing partner and co-chair of Advent’s executive committee.
GPE XI follows the same strategy as earlier GPE funds and can invest across geographies, sectors, deal types and sizes. It will stay focused on Europe and North America. The fund will also expand Advent’s local presence in Asia-Pacific and draw on its regional team in Latin America.
Advent has more than 290 investment professionals in five core sectors: business and financial services, consumer, health care, industrial and technology. The firm will also keep pursuing complex corporate carve-outs and public-to-private deals, two areas where it has a strong track record.
The Mid-Market Fund will apply Advent’s sector-led, operationally intensive approach to smaller buyouts and growth investments. It will use the same deal teams as the GPE strategy. The fund will invest $100 million to $350 million in equity in companies with enterprise values of up to $1.25 billion, mainly in North America and Europe.
Advent manages more than $109 billion in assets and has made 460 investments in 45 countries.
