ADISA Conference Insights: Fundraising Strategies Amid a Challenging Environment (VIDEO)
Fundraising timelines last year were the longest since 2010. Given the current challenging environment, firms could take even longer to reach the finish line when raising funds or making deals. At the recent ADISA conference in San Diego, Connect Money asked industry leaders if current conditions are holding them back from investing more capital or are they seeing opportunities.
“We’re definitely seeing more opportunity. As the market has contracted, especially in the private lending space, what’s happened is a lot of the other private lenders that had leverage lines or credit facilities are now contracting because they’re getting margin calls,” said Raymond Davis, Chief Strategy Officer, Red Oak Capital Holdings. “So, from our perspective it’s been a complete win. Our originations are up over 200%.”
In the video, you’ll also hear from Corey Nolen, Vice President/ Wholesaling, Cove Capital Investments, LLC. on why the firm’s debt-free structures have largely not been affected by rising interest rates; Andy Wang, Vice President, Marketing, Passco Companies, LLC., on the company’s strategy for Class-A apartments; Joe Hart, director of capital markets, RealSource Properties on why the company is aggressively seeking to buy properties; and Michael Underhill, founder and CIO, Capital Innovations, LLC and ADISA president on the importance of asset allocation.
