Aaron Rodgers’ RX3 Hauls $150M Catch from Athletes, Celebrities
RX3 Growth Partners, the growth equity firm co-founded by four-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Roth Capital Partners Chair & CEO Byron Roth, and Nate Raabe, the former managing director of Roth’s private capital group, has raised $150 million from athletes and celebrities to close its second fund.
NFL quarterbacks Josh Allen and Jared Goff invested in the fund alongside former Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, as well as celebrities Miles Teller, Vanessa Hudgens, Machine Gun Kelly, Christina Aguilera, Marshmello and Thomas Rhett.
California-based RX3 typically invests in growth-oriented consumer companies with revenue of $10 million or more.
“This marks an exciting time for all of us at RX3,” said Rodgers. “Our family of athletes, musicians, actors and business leaders not only adds to the unique RX3 community we have built, but also allows us to invest in and support category leading growth-stage, consumer brands.”
Launched in 2018, RX3 typically invests alongside major private equity firms like L Catterton, TA Associates and TSG Consumer Partners, and it currently has 14 active investments, including stakes in Full Swing, Manscaped and Therabody.
RX3’s first fund was a $50 million vehicle that was fully deployed across 17 investments. That fund has posted a 62% IRR on four complete exits — telehealth provider Hims, pet food manufacturer Nom Nom, car care brand Chemical Guys and designer eyewear company Privé Revaux — and the partial exit of Orgain, which last year sold a majority stake to Nestle.
