$385M Advisory Team Joins LPL from Kestra

LPL Financial LLC has added the team at Johns Creek Financial, an Alpharetta, GA-based advisory firm with approximately $385 million in assets, to its broker-dealer, RIA and custodial platforms. Led by financial advisors Brian J. McGill, II and Michael R. Hyser, the firm joins from Kestra.

Johns Creek Financial was initially founded in 2002, with Hyser and McGill later merging their practices in 2019. Both advisors offer investment services, tax strategies, retirement and estate planning for high-net-worth families, corporate executives and business owners. They are supported by wealth management assistants Stacie Alexander and Alexis Griffin.

“We chose to join LPL Financial because of its breadth of services and support, along with its advanced technology solutions that will help with the ease of doing business,” McGill said. “We believe that LPL is the right partner to help us with our growth objectives, and we look forward to providing clients with the highest level of service.”

In August 2023, LPL nabbed Watermark Wealth Management, an Arizona-based $1.5 billion advisory team previously with rival Kestra.

LPL supports more than 28,000 financial advisors and the wealth management practices of approximately 1,200 financial institutions, servicing and custodying approximately $1.8 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets on behalf of six million Americans.
