$1.5B Team Moves to Citizens to Accelerate NY Private Wealth Expansion

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. has added MWI Wealth Partners—a $1.5 billion AUM advisory team previously affiliated with Flagstar Advisors—to its Private Wealth division, further cementing its expansion in the New York City market. Led by seasoned advisors Adam Waldman, Daniel Menton, and Vincenzo Iannucci, the team brings more than 40 years of combined experience serving ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses.

“We are excited to join Citizens at this pivotal moment of growth in the New York market,” said Menton, now managing director at Citizens Private Wealth. “With Citizens’ extensive capabilities, we will provide clients with a truly integrated experience, seamlessly addressing their wealth, private banking, and commercial banking needs.”

The addition of MWI Wealth Partners aligns with Citizens’ strategic push into the Tri-State area, which began in earnest with its acquisitions of HSBC’s East Coast retail branches and Investors Bank in 2022. The firm recently opened its first dedicated New York Private Banking office and now operates 174 branches across the metro area.

“As we continue to build a world-class wealth management business, New York has been a key market where we were determined to expand,” said Tom Metzger, head of private wealth advisors at Citizens. “Our new team enables us to significantly strengthen our presence and capabilities in this vital region.”

The firm’s national wealth buildout continues in other major markets as well, with recent high-profile team additions in Boston, Bergen County (N.J.), South Florida, Southern California, and San Francisco
