Texas Teacher Retirement Bolsters Infrastructure, Natural Resources Funds
The Teacher Retirement System of Texas added several funds across its energy, natural resources and infrastructure, according to recent documents released by the $180 billion system.
The actions follow the deployment of $500 million in energy funds in June. A total of $361 million was invested across four funds in the roughly $11 billion energy, natural resources, and infrastructure program.
The highest allocation was $125 million to Energy Capital Partners’ ECP V. The infrastructure-focused fund is expected to raise $4 billion.
Ridgewood Energy Oil & Gas Fund V and Formentera Partners TRS CIV both received $100 million. Ridgewood Energy’s latest fund continues the company’s private equity strategy centered on the deepwater Gulf of Mexico in the United States.
Meanwhile, Austin-based Formentera Partners focuses on the acquisition and optimization of producing oil and gas properties in onshore US basins.
The Riverstone Investment Group’s continuation fund received a $36 million allocation. The firm focuses on real assets, primarily in energy, power, and infrastructure.
