Brookfield Receives $20M for Infrastructure Fund from SERS

Brookfield Asset Management received a $20 million commitment from the School Employees Retirement System of Ohio (SERS) for its Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners (BSIP) co-investment fund.

BSIP is an open-end private equity fund that invests in transport, telecommunications, power and renewable energy assets. According to Pitchbook, the fund has now raised $8.67 billion of capital.

Nearly 21%, or $3.6 billion, of the pension fund’s $17.1 billion portfolio is allocated toward global real assets, slightly above its 20% fiscal year 2024 target. Global real assets generated a 1.30% net return for SERS over the past fiscal year, outperforming its benchmark of -1.63%, according to board documents.
