Quantum Names William Riddle Partner, Head of Client Solutions

William Riddle Jr., a veteran of capital-raising at Lazard, has been named partner and director of client solutions by energy investor Quantum Capital Partners.

Riddle will lead capital formation and financing efforts across all strategies at Houston-based Quantum, which has numerous funds in the market.

“We are pleased to welcome an experienced leader of William’s caliber to our team as we continue to invest in our vision to support the global energy transition,” said Charles Baillie, Co-President of Quantum.

In 2003, Riddle co-founded the private capital advisory group at Lazard, where he was responsible for advising private equity firms raising capital with a focus on buyout, mezzanine, venture, distressed and turnaround situations, as well as hedge funds.

Prior to Lazard he led the global sales team in the private equity group of Merrill Lynch.

The firm is currently in the market with its latest fundraise, which was almost halfway to its $5.58 billion target in June, according to a Wall Street Journal report at the time.

The firm says it aims to invest in “responsibly sourced oil and gas” as well as decarbonization and sustainable energy, following more than two decades as a prominent fossil fuel investment firm.

Alongside its flagship fund, the firm is raising capital for Capital Solutions II, which will target sustainable energy assets, making investments through asset-based financing, preferred equity and secured and non-secured debt.
