Monomoy Capital Partners Raises $300M for Second Credit Opportunities Fund

Monomoy Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on private equity and credit investing in the middle market, has reached its fundraising target for its second dedicated credit opportunities fund, Monomoy Credit Opportunities Fund II (MCOF II), with $300 million in total commitments – more than double collected for its 2019 debut in the strategy.

MCOF II will continue to build on the firm’s credit strategy, focusing on debt investments in the secondary market for first lien term loans and senior secured notes of lower-middle-market and middle-market businesses in end-markets across the North American industrial, distribution and consumer sectors. The fund has begun deploying capital and is involved in a number of investments to date.

“We are grateful for the continued confidence and loyalty of our existing LP base and more than pleased to welcome new investors to support our second Credit Opportunities Fund,” said Monomoy partner and head of credit strategies David Robbins. “The market is well-aligned to drive continued attractive opportunities for this strategy, particularly within our sectors of expertise.”

Monomoy closed its debut credit fund at $135 million in 2019. The firm initially filed to raise $250 million for that vehicle, according to US securities filings.

The New York-based firm currently manages about $3 billion across its private equity and credit funds.
