Comerica Expands Southern Cal Presence with $3B, 11-member Wealth Management Team
Comerica Incorporated is continuing to expand its wealth management presence with the addition of a $3 billion, 11-member private wealth team in Southern California.
The Costa Mesa advisor team includes John Coker, David Chavez, Matt Webber, Christopher Illiano, Teresa Tabel, Deon Holmes and Genesis Moreno under the leadership of Eric McMullen, Senior Vice President, Private Wealth Regional Director.
The Century City team includes Sanjay Chugani, Maria Thieman, and Ryan Tunnell under the leadership of Mehdi Emrani, Senior Vice President, Private Wealth Regional Director.
The brokers were previously registered with Unionbanc Investment Services which was purchased last year by U.S. Bancorp, according to their BrokerCheck records.
“After extensive consideration of multiple firms, we selected Comerica for its shared values and commitment to providing best-in-class service and meeting the complex needs of our clients,” said Coker, SVP, Private Banking Advisor.
The new recruits are part of Dallas-based Comerica’s ongoing effort to expand its wealth management capabilities and geographic footprint. As of June 30, it had total assets of nearly $91 billion.
Earlier this year, Dallas-based Comerica tapped Ameriprise Financial Institutions Group to serve as the investment provider for the bank’s $195 billion wealth program. Ameriprise took over around $18 billion of the bank’s wealth portfolios, or slightly more than 9%, as part of the arrangement.
