Blue Sage Capital Exits Manufacturer Magnum Systems with Sale to 3 Rivers

Private equity firm Blue Sage Capital had its latest exit through the sale of Lenexa, KS-based packaging solutions designer and manufacturer Magnum Systems to private equity shop 3 Rivers. Blue Sage acquired Magnum in October 2016 for an undisclosed amount.

Investment firms Patriot Capital and SharpVue Capital participated in the transaction by providing debt and equity financing.

Blue Sage Partner Jonathan Pearce said, “We are proud of the hard work accomplished by our leadership team at Magnum over the past six years and couldn’t be more confident in the strategic direction of the business.”

Co-founded by Peter Huff, the Austin, TX-based Blue Sage typically invests $20 million to $40 million in control buyout investments and recapitalizations of companies with $20 million to $200 million of revenue.

The firm has raised over $600 million in assets under management across its three institutional investment funds.

Blue Sage was represented in the transaction by TM Capital as investment advisory and Queen Saenz + Schutz PLLC as legal counsel.
