Carson Group Adds $145M Intrinsic Investors in Wisconsin
Carson Group has added a Wisconsin-based wealth management team, further expanding its footprint in the Great Lakes market.
Wauwatosa, WI-based Intrinsic Investors, founded in 1999, is led by wealth advisors William “Bill” Fons and Chad Melcher, alongside operations manager Dawn Williams and manages about $145 million in total client assets.
The team, which has joined Carson Wealth, offers financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, philanthropy planning and wealth management services to high-net-worth clients.
As the firm transitions to Carson Wealth, the team will gain access to Carson’s technology, planning, marketing, and operational resources.
“I spoke with eight different firms, but I kept coming back to Carson for its long-term strategy, innovative resources and commitment to putting people first,” Fons said.
As part of the transition, Fons and Williams will gradually shift into consultative roles at Carson, while Melcher will continue to lead the practice, Carson stated.
Intrinsic Investors stated its team decided to join Carson for its capabilities for providing the firm with a “long-term succession path,” allowing older advisors to take a step back and provide support to the next generation of industry leaders.
About 35% of financial advisors, who collectively manage 40% of industry assets, expect to retire within the next 10 years, according to a recent study from Cerulli Associates.
However, over one-quarter of those advisors are uncertain about their succession plans, increasing the risk of disrupted client relationships and lost assets, the study also revealed.
Recently, Carson Group added Ohio-based Elios Financial Group, which oversees more than $367 million in assets under management.
Omaha, NE-based Carson Group, founded in 1983, oversees more than $65 billion in assets across over 165 partner offices, the firm said.
