RFG Advisory Merges with 2 Firms to Form $750M RIA
Registered investment advisor RFG Advisory has merged with two of its platforms to launch a wealth management firm.
The two firms, Louisiana-based Williams Financial Advisors and Alabama-based Volare Wealth Advisors, have joined together to form WFA Volare, which manages $750 million in assets.
The newly formed RIA brings together a 16-person team, which focuses on high-net-worth clients, including retirees, business professionals, elite athletes, and women.
WFA was founded in 1997 by president Tommy Williams, and Volare was founded in 2022 by partner and wealth advisor Christine Wedell.
“Being a female-founded firm has always been an important part of who we are and how we’ve built Volare,” Wedell said. “This partnership gives us an opportunity to build on that foundation by expanding our ability to serve women and families through every stage of their financial lives.”
WFA Volare includes Matthew Johnson, who joined from LPL Financial; Chase Crump, who’s from Louisiana’s only NFL Players Association firm; and wealth advisor Brandon Wilson, a former NFL athlete, RFG Advisory stated.
RFG Advisory’s latest transaction marks the firm’s second deal following its first acquisition of Richmond, VA-based RVA Wealth Management, which oversees over $320 million in assets under management.
Birmingham, AL-based RFG Advisory oversees approximately $8 billion in assets under management across 29,833 accounts, according to its latest Form ADV updated September 10.
