Crestline Management Closes $625M European Credit Fund

Crestline Management has closed its second European Capital Solutions fund with $625 million in commitments, expanding its capacity to provide private financing to asset-backed and lower-middle-market companies across Northern and Western Europe.

European Capital Solutions Fund II is nearly 75% larger than its predecessor. Investors included public and private pension plans, insurers, sovereign wealth funds and other institutions.

The strategy provides financing ranging from senior debt to structured equity. Investments can be secured by real estate, infrastructure and transportation assets, as well as less traditional collateral such as music royalties, healthcare receivables and litigation-related assets.

Crestline also targets asset-heavy, entrepreneur-led and family-owned businesses seeking capital for acquisitions, refinancings, ownership transitions or other situations that may not fit traditional bank underwriting.

“The European lower-middle-market continues to face a significant and persistent funding gap—one that requires creativity, speed and deep asset-level underwriting expertise,” said Michael Guy, executive managing director and head of European credit.

Fund II launched in 2025 and had committed approximately 35% of its capital as of the second quarter. Since initiating the broader strategy in 2015, Crestline’s European Capital Solutions team has deployed approximately $2 billion across 45 transactions, according to the firm.

The close comes as European direct lending remains active but selective: first-quarter 2026 volume was estimated at €8.3 billion across 35 transactions, down 33% from a year earlier, according to Carlsquare. Pricing in the market generally ranged from 10% to 17%, depending on leverage, structure and underlying asset quality.

Crestline, founded in 1997 and based in Fort Worth, Texas, managed approximately $18 billion of credit assets as of March 31. Rithm Capital completed its acquisition of Crestline in December 2025, expanding Rithm’s alternatives platform alongside its prior acquisition of Sculptor Capital Management.
