Partners Group Reinvests in Nordic Data Center Operator

Partners Group’s infrastructure secondaries strategy is reinvesting in atNorth, taking a 10% stake after the Swiss firm completed the $4 billion sale of the Nordic data center operator to CPP Investments and Equinix.

The closing reshaped the ownership announced in February. CPP Investments now holds a 51% controlling interest after committing $1.3 billion, while Equinix owns roughly 34% following an investment of $895 million. Partners Group committed $260 million for its minority position, according to the buyers.

Partners Group acquired atNorth in 2022 through its direct infrastructure strategy. During its ownership, atNorth expanded from three operating data centers to eight, with campuses under development across the Nordic region. The company has secured more than 1.5 gigawatts of power capacity.

The company entered Norway with its planned NOR01 campus in Haugaland Business Park. The 36-hectare site is expected to open with 120 megawatts of capacity and scale to 350 megawatts.

Dmitriy Antropov, Partners Group’s head of infrastructure partnership investments, said atNorth should continue benefiting from diversified demand and increased AI deployment.
