Sequoia Financial Acquires $2.3B RIA in Colorado
Wealth manager Sequoia Financial Group has acquired a wealth management firm that oversees roughly $2.3 billion in assets under management, bolstering its presence in Colorado.
Denver-based BSW Wealth Partners, which was founded in 1992 and is led by David Wolf, provides financial planning and wealth management services to high-net-worth clients.
Following the acquisition, BSW clients will gain access to Sequoia Financial’s tax, estate, and financial planning services, Sequoia Sentinel family office services, and its broader investment platform.
Additionally, BSW Wealth Partners, which brings 12 additional advisors to Sequoia, will operate under the Sequoia Financial brand.
“The incredible alignment of BSW’s ethos to Make Life Better and Sequoia’s vision of Enriching Lives also extended across our firms’ cultures, clients, and capabilities,” said Wolf. “United, we can better serve families for generations, create exciting career opportunities for our team, and broaden our impact in Boulder, Denver, and throughout the Mountain West.”
Terms of the transaction, which closed in July, were not disclosed.
The acquisition marks Sequoia’s second deal this year, following its purchase of Twin Cities-based All Star Financial, which manages $1.3 billion in total assets, expanding the RIA’s footprint in the Rocky Mountain area.
Akron, OH-based Sequoia Financial Group, founded in 1991, is led by CEO Tom Haught and oversees $34.9 billion in assets under management as of the end of June.
