Cohen & Steers Launches Diversified Real Assets ETF

Cohen & Steers has launched the Cohen & Steers Real Assets Active ETF, expanding the firm’s actively managed exchange-traded fund lineup with a diversified strategy spanning listed real estate, infrastructure, natural resources and commodities in a single vehicle. The ETF trades on the NYSE Arca under the ticker CSRA.

“We believe we have entered an era of scarcity shaped by rising demand for energy and materials, deglobalization and persistent supply constraints,” Vince Childers, Cohen & Steers’ head of real assets multi-strategy, said. “In this environment, investors need more than a short-term inflation hedge.”

Cohen & Steers said the strategy draws on its four decades of experience in listed real assets and allows the portfolio management team to shift allocations among sectors as market valuations, economic conditions and inflation expectations change.

CSRA carries a net expense ratio of 0.80%, making it the firm’s priciest active ETF slot yet, a notable positioning at a time when fee competition across the active ETF market continues to intensify.

CSRA joins a growing lineup of active ETFs from the New York-based investment manager. Its existing offerings include the Cohen & Steers Real Estate Active ETF, or CSRE; Infrastructure Opportunities Active ETF, or CSIO; Natural Resources Active ETF, or CSNR; Preferred and Income Opportunities Active ETF, or CSPF; Short Duration Preferred and Income Active ETF, or CSSD; and Future of Energy Active ETF, or CSEN.

The firm’s real estate ETF, launched in February 2025, had approximately $546.9 million in net assets as of Aug. 6. The portfolio seeks total return through a high-conviction selection of listed real estate securities and emphasizes income-generating REITs.

Cohen & Steers’ natural resources ETF uses a risk-parity framework to invest in businesses across the energy value chain, metals and mining, and agriculture. Its future-of-energy ETF held about $185.1 million in assets as of Aug. 6.
