NVIDIA Enlists Wall Street Firms for $500B AI Infrastructure Push

Nvidia has signed strategic agreements with six major financial institutions to establish independent compute financing platforms intended to mobilize more than $500 billion for artificial intelligence infrastructure over time.

The chipmaker entered memorandums of understanding with Apollo Global Management, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield Asset Management, Goldman Sachs and KKR. The firms will work with Nvidia to create dedicated capital pools for customers building data centers and other infrastructure around Nvidia computing systems.

The initiative is designed to provide financing at scale to frontier AI laboratories, enterprises and AI cloud providers. Nvidia said the platforms will support customers developing DSX AI factories as global demand for computing capacity accelerates.

The memorandums outline planned partnerships rather than representing $500 billion of capital already raised or committed. Nvidia did not disclose the expected contributions from each institution, financing structures or deployment timetable.

The initiative reflects the growing role of private capital in funding the data centers, electricity generation and semiconductor systems required for AI development. It also positions Nvidia’s computing equipment as a financeable infrastructure asset that can support large debt and equity investments.

“In AI, compute is revenue,” said Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s founder and CEO. “Nvidia compute is uniquely suited for this role.”

Huang said the company’s systems can serve multiple models, workloads, customers and operators. Nvidia also argues that its CUDA software ecosystem extends the useful life and improves the economics of its hardware.

The financing platforms would give Nvidia customers access to larger pools of institutional capital while potentially accelerating purchases of the company’s chips and systems.
