Merit, EdgeTunePower Partner to Speed Grid Infrastructure for Hyperscalers
Merit and EdgeTunePower Inc. (ETP) have formed a strategic partnership to deliver integrated power infrastructure solutions for hyperscale data centers, independent power producers and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firms, as demand for AI-driven electricity capacity continues to grow.
The collaboration combines Merit’s controls engineering expertise with EdgeTunePower’s capabilities in power system studies, electromagnetic transient (EMT) modeling and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) validation to provide customers with a comprehensive solution spanning system design, testing, commissioning and long-term operational support.
The companies said the partnership addresses the increasing complexity of power systems as artificial intelligence workloads, large-load facilities and inverter-based energy resources place new demands on electric grids. By validating control systems before facilities are energized, the firms aim to reduce technical and scheduling risks while accelerating commercial operations.
“As AI, large-load facilities, and inverter-based resources reshape the grid, customers need more than equipment; they need confidence that complex power systems will perform as designed before they’re energized,” said Mesa Scharf, chief product officer at Merit.
The integrated offering includes engineering studies, digital modeling, control system development, real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, commissioning services and ongoing operational support, providing developers with a single workflow from project design through commercial operation.
“By combining advanced power system studies, EMT modeling, and real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop validation with Merit’s controls expertise, we’re helping customers reduce technical risk, accelerate commissioning, and deliver grid-ready facilities with confidence,” said Sam Maleki, Ph.D., P.Eng., chief growth officer for data centers at EdgeTunePower.
